We usually go to Putrajaya over the weekend to cycle. These pix are from the session we had just now, where Alif broke his cheapo trike into half. Guess his destruction mode was alway switched on.

Like I've mentioned, I've installed the leather seats. Barda leather from Germany, it is used also in BMW and some other German marque. Feels and smells like BMW leather, but well..it is still a Proton.
Did my first 1000km service today. Right after service, i got some sickening sound, like a screw running loose somewhere. Stopped, went back and found out it was the cabin light's bulb that came loose. Dunno how that happeed but got it fixed.

This might be a shock to those who know me.
I am leaving my profession as a motoring journalist and will be joining a bank soon.
Yup, no more hot cars, but i will still be a news editor for a new bike magazine. So at least I still have some superbikes to toy around with.
Anyway, since i wont longer get to use test cars, I need a car. I need a cheap go-anywhere banger which is easy to maintain and yet fun to drive.
With a budget of below RM50k, plus the fact that the wife is not keen on me buying a used car, Neo I guess is the best bet. I actually blew the budget a bit (by another RM1,800) as my Neo comes with twin airbags, ABS and pretensioners.
Got the car on Monday. The next day I sent it to my friend, Raymond. He does PPS, or Paint protection System. its a teflon coating that locks the new car shine in my car for the next 2 years.
Am I happy with the car? Well, I can easily outcorner a lot of cars out there double its price, but it is a small car and even on day 1 it has shown its Proton roots - i.e. a slow rattling noise behind the dashboard.
Sigh....back to my old tricks lah; blast off the stereo to drown the racket.
Hahahaha!

If you are thinking of sending your car for some detailing, try Swissol, or Swiss Wax at Bm Auto in Segambut.
I was very impressed with their work. It is so detailed, they even clean up the wheel well, plate numbers, and all the nook and croonies u can find on ur car. i've been to a few and tested them before but not as thourough as these fellas.
I do not gain anything from this but I would love to recommend them due to their impressive job they do.
Call them at 03-6257 6619.

Oh my God....I love this car. In fact, if you put this car besides the new Camry 2.4L or the new Accord 2.4L, the Mazda can easily blow the lids of the other two. Of course the ride is slightly harsher but it is not that bad. It looks nice, it drives well, it is nicely put together, its a CBU from Japan and it is priced between the Camry and the Accord.
If you need a sporty executive car, THIS is the car. I kid you not, THIS is the car!

Nice...with the M-Kit and all. Needs a more powerful engine though but I am not complaining. I mean if I lose out the another car, I can always give some stupid reason that i have kids inside the car and I cant really whack the car. Its a station wagon and they'll buy that reason for sure. Hahahha! Seriously, this one scores high in my wish list!
